FR HUGH THOMAS RETREAT 12-14 JANUARY 2024 AT ST PHILIP'S CATHOLIC PARISH HALL, BLACKBURN NORTH, VICTORIA
Father Hugh Thomas CSsR, a Redemptorist missionary Priest from Sydney
will be giving the Retreat.
The Retreat will be about the Gift of Living in the Divine Will, a sanctity
inspired by the Italian mystic, Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta (1865-1947), who lived in Corato, Italy over 80 years and who, under obedience to her spiritual director, produced 36 Volumes of what is known as, "The Book of Heaven" - teachings from Jesus on the fulfillment of The Our Father: "...Thy kingdom come,Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." (Mt 6:10).
For many years her extraordinary confessor was Fr. Annibale De Francia. He was the censor of books for the Archdiocese of Trani where she lived and approved the printing of the first 19 volumes of her major work "The Book of Heaven".
He spent the rest of his life promoting the teaching given to her by Jesus and Mary. He has since been beatified and then canonised.
Additionally, two highly acclaimed books by Luisa Piccarreta, and with Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur, are;
"The Hours of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ" and
"The Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will".
The process of the Cause of Beatification of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta was established in November 1994 by the Archbishop of Trani (the Diocese in which Luisa lived). The Archbishops of Trani have encouraged the promotion of Luisa's teachings and prayer groups.
